1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. sugar (for rolling cookies)
chocolate "Kisses" (for decoration)

Cream butter, peanut butter, sugar and egg together. Add vanilla. Mix together the flour, soda and salt and gradually add to creamed mixture. Shape into balls and roll in 1/4 cup of sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and press a chocolate "Kiss" in each cookie so cookie cracks around the edges. Return to oven and continue to bake for 2 or 3 minutes.

Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
