This is a recipe in which the quantities of the ingredients really vary according to how many mushrooms you want. 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 5-6 slices bacon butter
Wash mushrooms, removing stems. Stems can be used in other recipes. Saute mushrooms in about 1/4 cup butter until a bit tender but still firm enough to stuff. Set mushrooms on paper towel to drain. Fry up bacon. Chop cooked bacon into bits.
Mash cream cheese in bowl with fork until softened. Fold in bacon bits. Stuff mushrooms with cream cheese mixture. Broil mushrooms on cookie sheet until cheese begins to brown slightly. Serve warm. (Stuffed mushrooms can be refrigerated before broiling until time to broil and serve.)
