SNICKERDOODLES 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. soft butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, butter, sugar and eggs thoroughly. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method. Mix flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Stir flour mixture into shortening mixture. Form into balls the size of small walnuts. Mix sugar and cinnamon together in small bowl. Roll balls in mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Place about 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

These cookies are yummy but, as you can see from the ingredients, not at all low calorie or low fat. I make them for special occasions and they are always a big hit.
