DATE RING COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Sift flour with soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add to cream mixture. Chill dough in refrigerator before rolling. Spread with filling and roll like jelly roll.

Store in refrigerator until ready to bake. Slice and bake in 350 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.

FILLING:

1 lb. dates
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. water
1 c. nuts

Cook until a paste is formed. Add nuts, set aside to cool. Spread on dough. Divide dough and filling into 4 equal parts before spreading.
