PINWHEEL DATE COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cream of tartar
Vanilla
Salt
Flour until thick

FILLING:

1 c. dates or raisins
1 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. flour

Cook and cool. Spread on dough like rolls. Roll up and put in cool place, then slice and bake.
