DAMSON PLUM JAM 
4 qt. damson plums, seeded and cut
1 qt. water
Sugar

Wash plums, remove seeds, cut in fourths. Add water and cook until fruit is soft. Measure and add 3/4 cup sugar for each cup of fruit. Stir mixture over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Boil rapidly until mixture is thick and clear. Pour into sterilized jars to within 1/4 inch of top. Put on cap, screw band firmly tight. Process in boiling water bath 10 minutes. Yields 10 half pints.
