3/4 c. fat (butter)
3/4 c. sugar (half brown + half white)
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins, 1/2 c. nuts or chocolate chips

Mix fat and sugar in a large bowl. Add egg and beat well. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Drop dough from teaspoon on a greased baking pan. bake at 350 degrees (moderate oven) about 15 minutes until light brown.

Chocolate Cornmeal Cookies

Use recipe for cornmeal cookie. Mix 1/4 cup cocoa into cookie dough with rest of dry ingredients. Add 1/4 cup fluid milk.
