GINGERBREAD 
1 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. rounding, baking soda
3 eggs
1 c. lard & butter, mixed
1 c. molasses
1 rounding tsp. cloves
1 rounding tsp. ginger

Mix lard and sugar; add eggs. Beat in molasses to which soda is added. Add flavor and spice. Beat well. Add hot water last. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
