DANISH CAKE 
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. corn oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. cake flour
1 c. nuts
1 c. dates (optional)

Mix all together, bake 45 minutes in 13 x 9 x 2 inch dish or pan at 300 degrees.

ICING:

2 tsp. Karo syrup
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 can coconut

Mix all except coconut, boil for a few minutes. Slice cake and pour icing over cake, sprinkle coconut over cake before pouring icing on.
