SOFT GINGER COOKIES 
1 c. shortening (or 1 1/4 c. vegetable oil [best])
1 c. sugar
2 c. light molasses
1 c. sour milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. ginger
1 tbsp. cinnamon
5 tsp. baking soda, (2 in. milk)
3 in. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
7 to 8 c. flour (enough to make stiff dough)

Chill. Bake at 350 degrees until done.
