Sift together and mix into brown sugar: 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. allspice 1 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/4 c. cornstarch

Dump 1 cup water, 1/3 cup oil and 1 tbsp. vinegar over top. Stir. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

Variation: Add 3/4 cup floured blueberries.
