GRAND CHAMPION COBBLER 
PASTRY:

1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
1/4 c. milk

FILLING:

1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
9 fresh peaches, peeled & sliced

PASTRY: In a bowl mix flour and salt for pastry. Cut in shortening with a blender until particles are size of peas. Gradually add milk to form a dough. Stir only until mixture holds together. Chill dough. Roll chilled dough into a thin layer.

FILLING: Cook peaches over low heat until tender. Mix flour and sugar together and add to peaches. Add butter. Pour mix into baking dish. Top with pastry. Bake in preheated oven, 40 to 45 minutes until light brown. Makes 9 servings.
