OATMEAL BREAD 
2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1 pkg. yeast
3/4 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
6 c. flour
1 c. chopped raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Pour 2 cups boiling water over oatmeal. Add 1 teaspoon salt and 2 tablespoons shortening. Let stand until lukewarm. Dissolve yeast, water and sugar. Let stand until doubled. Add brown sugar and flour. May add raisins and nuts. Knead until smooth. Cover and let rise until double. Punch down and rise again. Divide into 4 loaves and let rise until double in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. If you want to put cinnamon and sugar combination on dough and roll up before you put it in the pan.
