TOOGIES DUMPLINGS 
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper
Milk
Frying size chicken
1 tbsp. butter

Boil chicken, bone and save broth. Mix flour, baking powder, shortening and salt with enough milk to form a dough. Roll out into 1/8 inch sheet and cut into 1 inch wide strips.

Into large pot pour in small amount of chicken broth. Add a layer of chicken, a layer of dumpling strips and salt and pepper lightly. Cover this with chicken broth. Repeat this until all chicken and dumplings are used. Keep at slow boil while preparing. Top with cup of sweet milk. Roll all dumplings over at once. Add tablespoon butter. Cook until done. Serves 6-8.
