2/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel (I don't use)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 teaspoons milk
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream shortening, sugar, orange peel, and vanilla. Add egg, beat until light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Sift dry ingredients, blend in. Divide dough into 1/2. Chill one hour.

On lightly floured board roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters.

Bake on a greased cookie sheet.
