OLD FASHION BROWNIES 
3 (1 oz.) sqs. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. Diamond walnuts, chopped

Melt together chocolate and shortening over warm water, cool slightly. Mix together eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. Blend in chocolate mixture then flour. Fold in walnuts. Turn into well greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes, should still be soft. Cool in pan. Cut into 20 bars.
