ALMOND BUTTER CRUNCH WHEELS | |
1 c. slivered almonds 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. light corn syrup Line a pie plate with foil and grease with butter and set aside. Do not use wax paper or other, it has to be foil, heavily greased. Combine almonds, butter, sugar, and corn syrup in a 10 inch skillet. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, and cook until the mixture turns to a golden brown (about 5 or 6 minutes). Working quickly, spread the mixture into the prepared pie pan. Cool about 15 minutes until firm and remove and peel off the foil. Wrap in saran wrap, when cool, for a pretty gift. Break into pieces to serve. This is good to make at Christmas time. |
