NORA'S BUTTERY PECAN ROUNDS 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
36 pecan halves

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Cream butter and sugar slowly. Stir in egg yolk; stir in dry ingredients. Add chopped pecans.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Top with pecan halves.

Bake at 325°F for 12 to 15 minutes.

Makes 36 cookies.
