APPLE SALAD 
4 apples
1/2 c. cinnamon candy, red hots
2 c. water
1/3 c. diced celery
6 pitted dates
3 tbsp. salad dressing

Peel and core apples. Cook candy in water until dissolved. Add apples and cook slowly until transparent. Spoon sauce over apples while cooking. Chill. Place an apple on shredded lettuce. Fill center of apple with mixture of celery, dates (chopped) and dressing.
