COUNTRY BISCUITS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In large bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in buttermilk; quickly mix just until mixture forms soft dough that leaves side of bowl. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, knead 6 to 8 strokes to mix thoroughly. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick and cut out biscuits. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
