CHOW CHOW 
1 doz. med. onions
1 doz. sweet green peppers
1 doz. sweet red peppers
4 qt. chopped cabbage
2 qt. chopped green tomatoes
1/2 c. salt
2 1/2 qt. vinegar
5 c. sugar
4 tbsp. ground mustard
4 tbsp. ground mustard seed
1 tbsp. turmeric
1 tbsp. ground ginger
1 tbsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. pickling spices (tied in a bag)

Combine chopped onions, pepper, tomatoes, and cabbage: mix well. Let stand overnight. Drain well. Add remaining ingredients: simmer to desired consistency. Remove spice bag. Pack in jars and seal.
