BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
1 c. brown sugar (packed down)
1 c. white flour
1 c. (crushed) Bran Flakes 40% Bran
1 c. sour milk, sweet with it vinegar
1 heaping tsp. baking soda, add to flour
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. raisins (soak in hot water to soften)

Mix together Bran Flakes and brown sugar. Add portions of sour milk and flour (with baking soda added) alternately. Flour nuts and raisins in separate bowl before adding.

Use #303 cans. Be sure cans are well greased and floured. Pam is fine. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 2 loaves. Double recipe makes 5 nice size loaves. Fill cans approximately 2/3 they will rise pretty much.
