GLENN'S FAVORITE GINGER COOKIES 
1 egg
1 c. white sugar
3/4 c. shortening
4 tbsp. molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Beat egg and shortening together. Add sugar. Beat. Add molasses and beat well. Combine dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Make into balls and roll in sugar. Chill two hours or overnight. Place on baking sheet and bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. DO NOT flatten balls; they will crack open. These are crisp and crunchy cookies.
