FRIED ONION RINGS 
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. beer
3 lg. onions, sliced into rings
3-4 c. shortening

Combine flour and beer with a whisk. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 3 hours.

Heat shortening to 375 degrees. Dip onions in batter and fry in shortening until golden.
