2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cream
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter or shortening

Sift flour once, measure. Add baking powder, salt and sift again. Add vanilla to butter and cream thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
