MRS. A.'S BREAD PUDDING 
About 5 1/3 c. torn bread in sm. pieces
2/3 c. raisins
3 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter
3 eggs, beaten
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. vanilla

Place half of bread in greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle raisins over top, then remaining bread. Heat milk and butter in saucepan until butter is melted, scald milk. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes. Stir into milk, the beaten eggs. Combine sugar and cinnamon, add to milk. Add the vanilla. Pour milk mixture over bread. Cover. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes, uncover and bake 10 minutes more.
