BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE 
2 sticks nucoa
3 c. sugar, blend well
6 eggs, add one at a time
3 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda mixed with dry flour
1 c. sour cream
1 c. chopped black walnuts, dusted in 1/2 c. flour taken from the 3 c.
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. black walnut flavoring

Mix all dry ingredients together. Blend butter, sugar, eggs and sour cream together. Add flour mixture slowly. Add flavorings then stir in black walnuts. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes, then 1 hour at 325 degrees.

BUTTERMILK ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. white corn syrup

Mix all ingredients together well. Cook on medium heat until it boils. Boil 6-7 minutes. Stir slowly while cooking. Do not beat. Pour over cake while warm.
