COUNTRY NINE BEAN SOUP | |
2 cups nine bean soup mix (about) 1/2 tsp. salt (or to taste) 2 quarts water 1 large onion, chopped 1 lb. ham, diced 1 clove garlic, minced 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained), chopped 1 (10 oz.) can tomato and green chilies Cover beans only with water, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender. Add remaining ingredients, simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Can add Nature's Seasons (?), hot sauce and black pepper to taste.
