RAISIN DROP COOKIES 
1 c. seedless raisins
3/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. syrup (Karo)
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. buttermilk

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add egg and syrup, and beat well. Mix flour and spices together. Blend into creamed mixture, alternately with buttermilk. Blend in raisins. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
