CHICKEN PAPRIKASH 
4 lbs. chicken or chicken parts
1/2 pt. light cream or evaporated milk
2 tbsp. flour
1 onion
2 tbsp. shortening
2 c. water
Pinch of baking soda
Dash of paprika
2 tbsp. vinegar

Dice onion and fry in the shortening. Add chicken and brown slowly, add salt and pepper, dash of paprika (approximately 1 teaspoon) over chicken. Add water and simmer slowly until chicken is done. Remove chicken, save broth.

Make a thickening of cream and flour. Add to broth. Add pinch of baking soda. Add vinegar, stirring the cream mixture vigorously while adding. Return chicken to mixture and mix thoroughly. Bring to boil. Season to taste.
