AUNT EDA'S CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1/2 cup shortening 2 cups brown sugar 2 (1 oz. ea.) sq. melted unsweetened chocolate 2 eggs, unbeaten 2 cups cake flour (Swans Down) 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/4 cups milk (or less if using large eggs) Cream shortening and sugar, add chocolate. Add 2 eggs and blend. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternating with milk. Do not over-beat. Makes 3 layers. Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes, or until done. Submitted by: Frances Wright |
