PEPPER STEAK | |
1 1/2 lb. sirloin, cut into strips 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1 tsp. garlic 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground pepper 1 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 lg. green peppers, cut in strips 2 lg. white onions, sliced 1/4 c. soy sauce 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 c. beef bouillon (2 cubes) 1 c. water chestnuts, sliced 1 can bamboo shoots 2 tbsp. corn starch dissolved in 1/2 c. cold water 4 green onions, cut in 1 inch strips Heat oil and add spices. Brown steak slices and remove meat from skillet. Into skillet put in green peppers and onion slices, stirring until limp. Return meat. Stir in soy sauce, sugar, bouillon, add chestnuts, bamboo sprouts, corn starch and green onions. Serve over rice. |
