SMITTY'S MEAT LOAF 
2 to 3 lbs. (more or less) 80% lean ground beef
1 egg
1 pkg. (envelope) Lipton's onion soup
2 c. bread crumbs (I also use stuffing mix)
1 c. grated cheese (American or Cheddar)
1/2 c. ketchup
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. Italian dressing

Mix hamburger, egg, bread crumbs (or stuffing mix) in a large bowl. Add onion soup mix. Knead mixture and form a loaf. Kneading is very important...so don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Prepare a loaf pan by adding ketchup, dressing and Worcestershire sauce, coating the bottom of the pan. Place loaf in pan and top with grated cheese. Cook for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
