PIZZA ROLLS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. finely chopped onion 1 clove garlic, pressed or finely chopped 1/2 c. thick tomato sauce or pizza sauce 1/2 tsp. dried basil or oregano leaves 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 Italian rolls, about 6 inches long each 3/4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese Combine beef, onion and garlic in a 1 quart glass baking dish. Cover. Microwave at power level Cook for 7 1/2 to 9 minutes, or until beef begins to brown, stirring twice. Drain off fat. Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, salt and pepper. Split rolls in half lengthwise and arrange in a round baking dish. Spoon on beef mixture and top with cheese. Microwave, uncovered, at power level Defrost for 11 to 12 1/2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and sandwiches are hot, rotating the dish 1/2 turn after 5 1/2 minutes cooking time. Makes 4 servings. |
