CHICKEN STRATA 
325 degrees. Feeds 9 or 12.

8 slices day old bread
3 cups diced cooked chicken
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 lg. can mushroom pieces
1 c. mayonnaise
2 eggs beaten
2 c. milk
Salt & pepper to taste
1 can cream of mushroom soup
8 oz. grated cheddar cheese

Cut bread in one inch cubes. Butter 2 slices and save for topping. Cover bottom of 9 x 13 pan with unbuttered cubes. Mix chicken, vegetables, mushrooms and mayonnaise together. Spoon over bread cubes. Top with buttered cubes.

Mix beaten eggs and mix together. Pour over bread and chicken mixture. Chill overnight.

Before baking, spread undiluted soup over top as frosting. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cover with grated cheese 15 minutes before baking time is up.
