SCOTCH BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. rolled oats
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate bits
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter and both sugars; add egg yolk and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in flour and rolled oats. Blend well. Spread in greased 7 x 11 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool. Melt chocolate chips over hot water and spread on bars. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut into bars while warm.
