BEEF PATTIES IN CHILI GRAVY 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup rolled oats, quick or regular, uncooked
1 egg
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2/3 cup milk or water
2 (10 3/4 oz. each) cans beef gravy (2 1/2 cups)
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder (or as desired)

Combine beef, rolled oats, egg, onion, salt, pepper and milk or water; mix well. Shape into 8 thick patties and place in shallow 2-quart baking dish. Mix gravy and chili powder and pour over meat.

Make in a moderate oven (350°F) until done, about 30 minutes, or cook in covered fry pan over moderate heat.

Makes 8 servings.
