SCALLOPED APPLES 
8 med. tart apples (Granny Smith)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
4 tbsp. butter

Peel, core and slice apples. Toss in a large bowl with next 5 ingredients. Melt butter in medium skillet, add apples and stir until coated with butter. Cover and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 10 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender. 6 to 8 servings.
