MOTHER'S BANANA NUT BREAD 
1 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 soft bananas

Cream butter with sugar, add eggs. Sift flour with baking powder. Add rest of ingredients and put dough in 3 (12 ounce) coffee cans and fill them half full. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

My Mother made these cakes very often, in fact whenever someone came to visit there was always a banana bread cake to be eaten. We had to save the coffee cans for her as she was always running out.
