PECAN SANDIES 
1 c. butter
2 tsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar (granulated)
2 c. flour
1 c. pecans

Cream butter, water, vanilla and sugar. Then add flour and pecans. Mix well. Chill 3 to 4 hours. Shape into balls or fingers.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in slow oven, 325°F, about 20 minutes. Cool slightly and then roll in confectioners sugar. Finish cooling.

I use margarine and like the results better than butter. This recipe was in an old Better Homes and Gardens cook book so you know it has to be good!

I love finding this traditional pecan sandies recipe. I found it 46 years ago in a Better Homes and Garden recipe book that I received for my wedding. I have made it every year since for Christmas. Thanks so much for validating a warm and precious memory!
