BETTY TAYLOR TOMATO GRAVY 
Wash and quarter 5 to 6 tomatoes. Put in skillet with about 1 tablespoon Crisco. Cover tomatoes with water and cover skillet. Cook until tomatoes get tender. Put flour and hot water together and stir until mixture is smooth. Finish filling bowl with milk. When the tomatoes are tender, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of soda and let mixture come to a hard boil. Add milk. Mixture cooks until thick, add 2 teaspoons of sugar. Stir well and serve.
