GRANNY'S CHOCOLATE PIE 
4 eggs, separated
1 stick butter
Dash salt
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 1/4 c. white sugar
1 lg. can Pet milk
1 can water
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, flour, cocoa and salt. Sift well. Add egg yolks and just enough milk to make a paste. Then gradually add remaining milk and can of water. Add vanilla and pour into 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Cut butter on top of pie.

Bake 350 degrees until completely set and knife inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and add meringue. Return to oven and brown.

MERINGUE:

4 egg whites
8 tbsp. sugar

Whip in chilled bowl with chilled beaters.
