VEGETABLE AND RICE DISH 
2 lbs. peas, string beans or any vegetable
Beef chunks or ground beef
15 oz. tomato sauce
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
Salt, pepper and allspice
4 c. rice
Butter or oil
1 c. very thin vermicelli (soup noodles)

Brown meat with onion and garlic. Add tomato sauce and 1 can of water. If using beef chunks, add 1 cup of water until meat is tender. Then add vegetables of your choice and simmer until sauce thickens. Serve over rice.

RICE: Saute vermicelli in butter or oil until golden brown. Add rice and stir well, then add 5 cups of water on high fire until it boils. Then turn down to simmer for about 20 minutes.
