CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
3 3/4 c. shortening
4 1/2 c. brown sugar
4 1/2 c. white sugar
9 eggs
6 tsp. baking soda
6 tsp. cream of tartar
13 c. flour
1 c. bran
6 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. chips

Cream together shortening, brown sugar and white sugar; add eggs. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Add chips. Shape into balls. Bake at 350 degrees, 10 to 11 minutes, until light brown.
