CORN MUFFINS 
1 1/2 c. corn meal
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sweet milk
2 eggs, beaten

Cream sugar and shortening; add beaten eggs; mix well. Add dry ingredients, then add milk. Bake in a long pan at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cut into squares.
