POLISH BEEF ROLLS (ZRAZ -
ZAWIJANY)
 
2 1/2 lbs. top of round (4 x 8 inch) slices, 1/4 inch thick

Place 2 tablespoon filling in center of 4 x 8 inch slices. Fold over meat from sides and bake and roll. Tie roll with a string. Preheat electric skillet to 300 degrees. Pour some oil in and fry the beef rolls until brown on all sides.

Drain on absorbent paper towel. Remove string and place rolls in baking dish, add 1 cup of your favorite gravy and an onion. Cover with foil and bake in 350 degrees oven for 1 1/4 hours.

FILLING:

Saute in 4 tablespoon butter, 3 tablespoons chopped celery, 2 tablespoons chopped onions. Crumble 12 slices white bread without crust. Combine with 1 egg, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a dash of pepper. Add to sauteed celery and onions.
