APPLE PIZZA PIE | |
Double recipe Pat-a-dough Crust 1 c. apple butter 2 tbsp. bourbon 6 lg. baking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced 1/2 c. light or dark raisins 3/4 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. sugar 2 to 3 tsp. ground cinnamon 3/4 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. butter, cut into sm. pieces Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare dough and press into bottom and slightly up sides of a 14 inch deep dish pizza pan. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees. Mix together apple butter and bourbon. Gently spread over bottom of pie crust to make a very thin coating (1). Toss together apples, raisins and nuts. Sprinkle apple mixture over crust (2). Combine half the sugar with the cinnamon. Sprinkle over apple slices. Mix together flour and remaining sugar, then cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over sugar mixture (3). Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until crust is light brown. Serve warm. |
