HUSH PUPPIES 
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. grated or minced onion
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. cream style corn (opt.)
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 clove garlic, squeezed (opt.)

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add other ingredients and blend well. Shape into small balls with spoon or fingers. Fry in deep fat or hot fish grease until well browned. Drain well on paper toweling. Delicious with fried fish, shrimp or oysters. Serves 6.
