1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. applesauce
1 c. chopped nuts
2 c. raisins

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and applesauce. Add dry ingredients (mixed together), to creamed mixture. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour into 2 (8 inch) round pans and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
