CHOCOLATE FLAT CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, mix with sugar and salt. Put butter, water and cocoa in saucepan, bring to boil. Pour over flour mixture.

Mix together eggs, baking soda, milk and vanilla. Add to other mixture. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees in greased and floured 13 x 15 pan.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, cocoa and milk. Heat but do not boil. Add sugar and vanilla. Frost cake while frosting is hot.
